Title: Algebra of Decibel as a Tool for Assessment of Acoustic Hazard to the Environment – New Research Tasks

Prof. Wojciech Batko deals with the wide range of aspects of dynamics, vibroacoustics of technical systems and related issues of devices diagnostic. He is the author of over 400 publications in Poland and abroad, which include authorship or co-authorship of 12 books, 26 chapters in books, 136 articles in industry and international magazines, 10 patents and over 220 conference papers.
He was the originator and he implemented a number of research projects. As a result of these projects implementation, many innovative technical solutions have been created. They concerned the recognition of disturbances in monitoring systems, as well as the assessment of the uncertainty of acoustic control in the environment.
Prof. Batko is the creator of the mobile design – integrated station for continuous monitoring of noise, manipulator for positioning of the measuring microphone for research laboratories. He is also an originator of associated with it technology of automation of acoustic measurements.
He has developed technology and detection of the direction of sound propagation (based on a set of 3D Sound-Field microphones and own patent solutions). Using proprietary recursive algorithms and systems made in MEMS technology, he has also developed a miniature noise threats indicator. He has promoted his research area by supervising 15 doctoral dissertation
For many years Prof Batko has been a member of the Machine Building Committee of the Polish Academy of Sciences and the Acoustic Academy of the Polish Academy of Sciences as well as the Engineering Academy in Poland.

Marian W. DOBRY D.Sc., Ph.D,, Eng. (emeritus), Poznan University of Technology, Poland

Title: Sixty-year history of the Vibration in Physical Systems Symposium

Marian Witalis DOBRY [B. Sc., M. Sc., Ph. D., D. Sc.] has studied (Applied Mechanics) and graduated from Poznan University of Technology in (Poland). His scientific activity and interests involve mechanics, dynamics of machines and biological-mechanical systems, vibroacoustics, protection of human against vibration and noise, as well as diagnostics. In recent years, he has elaborated theoretical foundations (two principles) for power distribution and energy flow in mechanical and intelligent biological-mechanical system as for example Human – Machine (tools or vehicles) Systems. The theory allows energy optimisation and energy diagnostics on all stages of objects life. Until 2017 year, the professor was the head of the Vibroacoustics and Biodynamics Systems Division and Laboratory of Dynamics and Ergonomics of Human – Technical Object – Environment Metasystem. Professor is the author of: 3 monograph, over 200 publications and 30 Polish, European and USA patents applied in vibration and energy safe impact hand-held tools – the best adapted for human. Member of societies: Polish Society of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics – Branch in Poznan, Polish Society of Technical Diagnostics, Associate Member of the Biomechanics Section of the Committee of Mechanics of the Polish Academy of Sciences – since 2011, Polish Committee for Theory of Machines and Mechanisms (expert), Commission of Ergonomics – Branch of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Poznan, Poznan Society of Friends of Sciences. Co-editor of the Journal of Vibration in Physical Systems from 2008 to 2016.

Andrzej TYLIKOWSKI Prof. D.Sc. Eng. DHC – Warsaw University of Technology, Poland

Title: New Aspects of Stochastic Dynamics

An overview of basic ideas, methods and results achieved in stochastic vibration analysis for physical and mechanical systems is given. The analysis is confined to dynamic responses and stabilities of discrete and continuous systems. The study of dynamic systems has naturaly split into two branches. These are, different kinds of stability for uniform equations (parametric vibration) and bounds on solutions or estimations of nonuniform dynamic equations (forced vibration). The inner damping forces deterministic or stochastic are of great importance in analysis of parametric vibration. Present research areas include widening the class of nonuniform equation of motion on dynamic equations with fractional partial derivatives. The physically realized random processes are taken into account e.g. the impulsive loading due to impacts of trains of moving particles with random masses and arrival times or time and space-dependent processes with continuaus realizations with limited power spectra. The direct Liapunov method is effectively applied to a higher order coupled partial differential equations with random time-dependent coefficients.
